POSITION OBJECTIVES

The Lead Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/Medical Assistant (MA) is required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant and functions as the resource person to the non-licensed staff in the Klamath Tribes’ Medical Clinic. This position will be responsible for a full range of back office tasks for the Medical Clinic and will exercise full professional discretion and technical judgment based on training. Also, the lead acts as a liaison between management and staff. The Lead Medical assistant in the office setting is a specialty requiring a variety of skills, including but not limited to: Receptionist, registration duties, ICD9 coding, data collection for billing procedures, charge posting, maintains appointment schedules, schedules procedures and obtains appropriate authorizations and referrals, provides appropriate patient instructions per physician orders. Keeps manager apprised of early personnel issues. Routine duties shall include providing health care related services to individuals eligible for services provided by Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services in homes, schools, clinics, alternate job sites and other community locations within the Klamath Tribes’ Service Unit.
