Rooted in Our History. Committed to Our Future.
For generations, the Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin peoples have carried strength through resilience, culture, and connection to land and community. Prevention Services continues that responsibility today protecting our people by strengthening wellness before crisis happens.
We focus on community connection, youth leadership, cultural grounding, and access to life-saving resources.
Why Prevention Matters in our Tribal Nation here in Southern Oregon
Southern Oregon faces real challenges.
- Klamath County’s suicide rate remains higher than the Oregon state average.
- Rural communities experience higher overdose rates due to limited access to treatment.
- Youth vaping rates in rural Oregon continue to outpace urban areas.
- Native communities nationally are disproportionately impacted by suicide and substance misuse.
Prevention is not optional. It is necessary.
Our work addresses these realities directly — through education, outreach, and culturally grounded programming.
