A 2011 survey by Merritt Hawkins on behalf of The Physicians Foundation revealed that working for Indian health programs is a good solution to combat physician dissatisfaction. If you are looking for an organization that values your work and commitment to providing quality health care services to a rural population, Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services may be the right place for you.

Indian Preference: The Klamath Tribes have an Indian Preference policy, as do most tribes. The Indian Preference policy allows Native Americans who meet the qualifications for the position preference. The policy does not mean that only Indians will be hired. In fact, The Tribes employ many non-Indian employees.
Pre-employment alcohol and drug screening and random screening: Employee alcohol and drug testing is required by the Klamath Tribes as per policy.
Criminal background investigations: Background investigations are required for the majority of positions at Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services. Persons with 2 or more misdemeanor convictions and/or a felony conviction of a crime against persons will not be allowed to work in positions that have contact with children and/or elders. Positions that have access to confidential information or financial information require background investigations to determine suitability for employment. See Background and Character Investigation Policy.
