Application Procedure
Applications and resumes are only accepted for OPEN POSITIONS. All open positions are advertized on this website, with the Employment Office, and in local newspapers. All members of the community are encouraged to apply for any open Tribal position. Be sure to select the correct application as listed on the job description.
To be considered for employment, applicants must submit an Application for Employment with all supporting documentation as requested on the job description. If requirements are not met, i.e. submission of a resume in lieu of a tribal application or failing to include required certifications, your application will not be reviewed and will be disqualified. Applications and supporting documentation may be mailed or hand-delivered to Human Resource at the address listed below.
Physicians and Other Healthcare Providers
To be considered for employment, Providers (Licensed Independent Practitioners) will be required to complete the Application for Employment for Health Care Practitioners (Credentialing & Privileges) and submit all required supporting documentation as requested on the application and in the job description. You may find our Credentialing Checklist useful.
Hiring Practices
Indian Preference: The Klamath Tribes have an Indian Preference policy, as do most tribes. The Indian Preference policy allows Native Americans who meet the qualifications for the position preference. The policy does not mean that only Indians will be hired. In fact, The Tribes employ many non-Indian employees.
Pre-employment alcohol and drug screening and random screening: Employee alcohol and drug testing is required by the Klamath Tribes as per policy.
Criminal background investigations: Background investigations are required for the majority of positions at Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services. Persons with 2 or more misdemeanor convictions and/or a felony conviction of a crime against persons will not be allowed to work in positions that have contact with children and/or elders. Positions that have access to confidential information or financial information require background investigations to determine suitability for employment. See Background and Character Investigation Policy.
